The Ziptrak system uses a side guide track with a zip-lock channel that holds the fabric edge in place, creating a sealed outdoor room when the blind is deployed. When the track pulls away from the wall — usually from wind load on the fabric — or when the zip channel is damaged, the blind jumps out of the guide and the whole sealing function is lost. Wind gets in, rain blows sideways, and the blind may flap or tear if left operating incorrectly. Perth's Fremantle Doctor and summer storm winds put real lateral force on these tracks. Call 08 864 919 423 if your track has pulled or the blind is jumping the guide.
When You Need Ziptrak Track Repair
The blind is jumping out of the guide channel when you try to lower it — the fabric edge is no longer running inside the track properly. This usually happens after a wind event where the blind was deployed and the lateral force on the fabric pulled the track anchor out of the wall.
The track is visibly bowing away from the wall at the top or bottom, or there's a gap between the track and the wall where you can see daylight. This means the fixing anchors have failed or pulled through the substrate.
The zip channel itself is cracked or bent — usually from something impacting the track or from UV degradation of the plastic channel insert that the fabric zip runs through.
Our Ziptrak Track Repair Process
We assess whether the issue is the fixings, the track itself, or the channel insert. In most cases, pulled-out tracks can be re-anchored with improved fixings — heavier anchors set deeper into masonry or structural framing rather than into surface plaster or render.
If the track section is bent or the channel is damaged, we replace the affected section. In some cases the full track length needs replacement. We re-thread the fabric edge back through the guide after completing the track work and test full travel before leaving.
