Perth UV Aware
We recommend fabrics rated for Perth's UV load — not products that will fail in two seasons.
Outdoor blind fabric has a working life. Perth's UV index is one of the highest in the country, and fabrics that are exposed to direct sun for years will eventually fade, crack, or tear — even good-quality PVC. When the fabric is gone but the frame, tracks, and mechanism are still sound, replacing just the fabric is the smart option. It costs a fraction of a new blind and you keep the installation hardware that's already fitted to your home. Call (08) 6491 9423 to arrange a free inspection and quote.
When You Need Fabric Replacement
Obvious signs include fabric that has turned yellow, brown, or milky (UV degradation of PVC), visible cracking or crazing on the surface, tears from wind events or snapping under tension, and fabric that is no longer providing adequate shade — you can see the sun through areas that should be opaque.
Canvas fabrics tend to fade and mould in Perth's climate — the combination of hot dry summers and winter moisture causes the fibres to weaken and the coating to deteriorate. Mesh fabrics are more durable but eventually the weave loosens and the shade factor drops below what you're getting value from.
If your blind still operates correctly — the mechanism works, the tracks are sound, and the guides are straight — a fabric replacement is almost always a better financial decision than full replacement.
Our Fabric Replacement Process
We remove the existing fabric from the blind housing, measure the panel dimensions precisely, and order the new fabric in the material and colour you choose. The options include clear PVC (for a cafe-style look), tinted or coloured PVC, mesh fabric (for shade with airflow), and canvas.
Once the new fabric arrives, we attach it to the roller tube or the frame as appropriate, refit it through the guide tracks, attach the bottom rail, and test the full travel. The job usually takes two to three hours per blind depending on size and blind type.
Fabric Replacement Cost in Perth
Cost depends on the blind size, the fabric type selected, and the number of blinds being replaced at the same visit. Replacing multiple blinds in a single visit reduces the per-blind cost. We provide a written quote after assessing your blinds. Call to arrange a free inspection.
