Why Choose Perth Roller Shutters and Blinds

Wind Load Repair

We understand how Perth wind loads damage arm and bracket assemblies and re-anchor to handle it.

Structural Re-Anchoring

We fix into structure — not just surface plaster or render that will fail again under the same conditions.

Full Assembly Check

We assess all mounting points, not just the one that's visibly failed — secondary failures are common.

Outdoor blinds mount to walls, soffits, and pergola beams using a system of arms and brackets. These components hold the blind housing in position, support the weight of the blind during operation, and resist the lateral force of wind on the deployed fabric. Perth's Fremantle Doctor pushes real force through outdoor blind fabric — particularly on blinds facing west or on exposed coastal properties. When an arm bends or a bracket pulls loose, the blind housing can shift, the fabric can track incorrectly, and in severe cases the entire assembly can come away from the wall. Call  (08) 6491 9423 if any part of your blind's mounting structure looks bent, loose, or out of alignment.

Signs You Need Arm or Bracket Repair

The blind housing is visibly tilted or no longer sits square on the wall. This means at least one bracket has shifted — either the fasteners have pulled from the substrate, or the bracket itself has bent under load.

A support arm is bent or kinked. This commonly happens during wind events when the blind is deployed and the lateral force on the fabric exceeds what the arm was designed for. A bent arm changes the geometry of the blind and causes the fabric to track off-centre or bunch in the guides.

The blind wobbles or shifts when you operate it. If there's movement in the housing that wasn't there before, at least one mounting point has failed. Operating the blind in this state puts extra load on the remaining fixings, which will fail sooner if left.

You can see daylight between the bracket and the wall, or the fixing screws have pulled through the substrate. This is a structural failure — the blind is no longer properly anchored and is at risk of falling in the next storm.

Our Arm & Bracket Repair Process

We assess the full mounting assembly — not just the part that's visibly damaged. A bracket that's pulled out of one fixing point is a sign that the other fixings are under extra stress and may also be compromised.

Bent arms are replaced rather than straightened — straightened aluminium arms have compromised yield strength and will fail again faster than a replacement. We source matching arms where possible to keep the blind geometry consistent.

When brackets have pulled from the wall, we re-anchor into structural substrate — framing, masonry, or concrete — rather than just refitting the same screw into the same hole. Re-anchoring into the same failed fixing point will fail again under the same conditions that caused the first failure.

After the repair, we check the full blind operation. The housing should sit square, the fabric should track straight, and there should be no movement in the assembly during operation.

Arm & Bracket Repair Cost in Perth

Cost depends on the number of affected components and the extent of re-anchoring required. Structural re-anchoring into masonry costs more than surface fixing but lasts significantly longer. We provide a written quote after inspecting the mounting assembly.
